All Summer In a Day is a short story about a girl being bullied, discriminated, and treated poorly just because she is different. I think the book, Stargirl, a book by Jerry Spinelli strongly relates to the short story about discrimination. This book is about a new girl who comes to a high-school is at first liked by everyone, but then soon ignored and shunned by everyone in the school when they realize how different she is. They are ignoring all the kind things she has done for them, and treating her differently because she is not "normal."

CNN. At January 11, 2011, a young, 13 year old boy was attacked by seven teens, age from 13 to 17, on his way home. He was kicked, dragged in the snow, shoved into a tree, and hung on a metal fence on his jacket. And worst of all, they were videotaping everything that happened. Thankfully he wasn't seriously injured, but was still brutally attacked. This is related to the story about discrimination because the young boy is teased, attacked, and bullied for no real reason, just like what the little children did to the girl in the short story.
